The rules for posting and uploading on Kagane. Warnings and other staff decisions point to them by code.
Staff can remove what breaks a rule and warn, limit or suspend the account behind it. Warnings can carry points, and a higher total can lead to limits or a suspension.
Your standing page lists the warnings, limits and suspensions on your account, and is where you appeal them.
Report anything that breaks a rule. You need to be signed in. Your reports shows what happened to each one.
For everyone on Kagane: comments, forum posts, profiles and reports.
Treat other members with respect, even when you disagree.
Don't harass, bully or single out other users.
Don't attack anyone for their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion or disability.
Don't start flame wars or provoke people on purpose.
Use a report instead of accusing someone in public.
Give accurate, honest details in every report.
Report only actual rule breaks. False or malicious reports can lead to action against the reporter.
Keep posts about the series, chapter or thread they are on, and suited to it.
Hide plot points from later chapters in spoiler tags.
No repeated posts, advertising, self-promotion or posts with nothing to say.
Don't pretend to be another user, a group or a staff member.
Usernames, avatars, banners and bios follow these rules too.
Staff can reset an offensive or misleading name or profile.
Staff can act on behavior these rules don't name, and on attempts to get around them.
Not knowing a rule doesn't excuse breaking it.
Depending on how serious it is, staff can warn you, limit what your account can do, or suspend it for a time or for good.
For everyone who adds series or uploads chapters.
Upload images as the source released them, without needless processing.
Translations and images must be of acceptable quality, and no worse than your release on your own site or source.
Mark machine translations clearly, and keep them readable.
Heavily compressed or degraded images can be removed or replaced.
Check that a series or chapter isn't already here before you add it.
Releases of a chapter from different platforms can both stay, and so can differing versions from one platform if the series description says how. Copies with nothing to tell them apart may be removed.
Aggregator rips, heavily compressed images and DRM rips that weren't saved losslessly can be replaced by a better copy. Ask staff and show why yours is better.
Credit every upload to its real source and groups.
If the source isn't listed, ask staff or open a support ticket to add it before you upload.
Only groups attached to a protected source, such as an official platform, or added to one of its series can upload to it.
No illegal content, and nothing that shows children in sexual situations. Suggestive themes within a wider plot don't count on their own.
No promotion or advertising.
Uploads need a coherent story.
Fill in every field you can, correctly: titles and other names, year, description, languages, staff and the MangaBaka entry.
Rate the series by its most mature content: Safe, 15+ or 18+. For 18+, also say whether it is pornographic, and mark any series with disturbing content.
Use the best cover image you can find.
Staff weigh the intent, how serious the break is and your history.
Repeated or serious breaks can cost you upload access or your account.
Staff decide cases these rules don't cover, by what keeps content here in the best quality.
For uploaders of official releases, such as Tapas or Tappytoon, where several people can upload from one platform.
Upload official releases to archive them. Don't upload for credit, for upload counts or to promote yourself elsewhere.
Work with other uploaders. Conflict over titles isn't tolerated.
The first uploader to start a title from a source keeps it while they keep uploading.
If a title is taken, pick another. There is plenty left to archive.
Don't reserve or hoard titles you aren't uploading.
Don't fight over titles or rush out poor uploads to claim one. Staff settle disputes, and repeat offenders lose upload access.
Others may take over after 2 missed weeks with no notice.
Others may take over a month after a missed release with no notice. For irregular releases, staff decide.
When a series comes back, you have one day per released chapter to catch up, up to 15 days.
Several uploaders can work on one source or title if they coordinate so nobody uploads the same chapters.
An accidental duplicate isn't a violation. Sort it out politely and report it so it can be removed.
If your copy is better than another uploader's, ask for a replacement under the upload rules.
For official releases, quality means matching the source exactly.
Upscaling (AI included), denoising, sharpening and other edits don't count as better. Edited uploads can be removed or replaced by clean rips.
Staff may allow upscaling in rare cases. That is never blanket permission.
Every upload rule applies to official sources too.
A first break brings a warning and may cost you the title. A second suspends your upload access for a while, and a third removes it for good.
Serious cases, such as harassing other uploaders, can lead straight to permanent action.
Only post links that are relevant and safe to open.
Don't share personal information about yourself or anyone else.
For manga, the highest resolution and most detailed version wins. A human translation beats a machine one unless the machine one has clearly better images.
Internal releases can replace or sit beside any upload.
On an open source, a series belongs to the first group that uploads to it. Other groups ask the owner for access.
Don't add a second copy of a series to get around its owner. Moderators can reassign a series that was abandoned or claimed in bad faith.
Breaking these rules means removal at once and can cost you your account.
Staff may correct missing or wrong details.
Tell staff before a break so someone can cover. A title reassigned while you were away stays with its new uploader unless they agree to hand it back or go quiet themselves.
Don't leave uploads to the last minute, or jump on a title the moment its timer runs out.
Repeatedly replacing source-accurate uploads with processed versions costs you upload access.
