Amarion, a knight from a barren northern kingdom, spends every day fighting monsters just to survive. Out of nowhere, she receives a marriage proposal from Grand Duke Morte, a man feared as “Walking Death.” To save her starving kingdom, she accepts the proposal for its massive dowry. However, on their first night together, she is met with an unbelievable request. Your task is simple. Stay by my side while I sleep. However, you must remain awake. If it becomes too much to handle, you may strike me down. I will not hold a grudge. As the night falls and he drifts off after those cryptic words, Amarion finally realizes why the Grand Duke sought out a knight to be his wife. As the tension-filled, sleepless nights continue, the Duke’s attitude becomes increasingly sweet. Eventually, “Death” calls out to her with an enchanting smile. My lady, will you allow me to call you by your name?
