“Ba-woo, will you be my mate?”
Deep within the remote mountains—with the peaks and fields as his only companions—lived Ba-woo: an earnest young woodcutter of striking beauty who spent his days brewing makgeolli and tending to his crops. He had prayed and pleaded endlessly to the Mountain Spirit to grant him a worthy mate, but the only thing that ever answered his prayers was the trail of hoofprints left by a thieving roe deer that had raided his precious fields!
Then one day, slumped beside a shattered makgeolli jar, Ba-woo discovered an unconscious, naked man—a figure with dark skin, rippling muscles, and a pair of jutting fangs that were strangely alluring.
In that very instant, he realized the truth:
At long last, the Mountain Spirit had sent him a mate!
“Come on, let’s hurry home and mate!”
“M-mate?! I mean... isn't it a bit too soon for us to be mating?”
“Or would you rather do it right here? I’m certainly up for it.”
