I hope the site's been doing well for everyone over the past week or so. Things have seemed pretty stable on my side, which is a nice change after everything that's happened recently.
Uploads are now available to most users. I'm hoping this leads to a lot more community contributions, as I believe the library can grow much faster when it's not relying on just one or a couple of people to handle everything.
Internal uploads will continue as they always have, and I'll keep contributing as much as I can for as long as I'm able.
As for uploader role, we're still finalizing the exact requirements. The current plan is that users will need to have uploaded a certain number of chapters before being eligible for the uploader role. The threshold will likely be much lower for scanlators; perhaps around one-fifth or one-tenth of the requirement for regular uploaders.
We're also still deciding whether scanlators and uploaders should have separate roles. For now, they'll be treated as the same role until we settle on something.
We expect to begin assigning uploader roles sometime next month, maybe after 2 weeks from now, till then, please do not write to me asking for the role, the requirements aren't concrete either. The process will likely involve either messaging a moderator or contacting us through email, though the exact details are still being worked out. Once everything is finalized, full information will be added to the upload guide.
If a source or language you'd like to upload to is missing, or you need your own source (usually for scanlations), just write to us and I'll get it sorted out as soon as possible.
As an additional thank you, uploader status includes an ad-free experience for as long as you remain an uploader. It's a great way to support the site's growth while also improving your own experience on the platform.
There may still be changes to this system before it's fully settled. Maybe things such as time-based requirements and other adjustments to how uploading works overall. Any updates or changes will be reflected in the uploader guide and related pages over the coming days.
For now, though, that's where things stand.
Thanks again to everyone who's been contributing, reporting issues, supporting the site and helping the site grow.
