Hopefully this will be the last maintenance period for the foreseeable future. I want to apologize for the prolonged maintenance and service issues over the past two weeks.
Unfortunately, the upgrades we made following the initial maintenance caused by disk failures simply weren't enough to handle the level of concurrent users we were seeing. I had hoped they would be sufficient, but realistically the first few days after deployment were rough. Performance did improve over time, but that's not something I'd ever want to rely on.
As a result, I immediately began arranging further upgrades. However, due to the ongoing hardware shortages, it took some time to coordinate everything and get it fully set up. That's why we had a few days of degraded performance while those upgrades were being finalized.
The servers we're running on now should be capable of handling a significantly larger user base than we currently have. Beyond that point, I'd likely start looking into horizontal expansion, as scaling the current setup up further would be both impractical and prohibitively expensive.
Anyway, I've rambled enough. Once again, I'm sorry for the downtime and disruptions over the past few weeks. Everything should be in a good place now. I've been monitoring the site closely, and performance and load times have been stable.
Also, I've extended all active supporter subscriptions by one month. If your supporter status expired between May 13th and June 13th, feel free to email me and I'll add an extra month to your account. If I somehow missed you for any reason, you can do the same.
If you've contacted me via email and I haven't replied the past day or two, I'll likely get back to you within the next 24–48 hours.
Lastly, Following the recent Discord server takedown, I've decided not to maintain a personal presence there going forward. I was never a particularly active Discord user anyway.
Suggestions, bug reports, and other issues submitted through Discord will still be addressed when they're forwarded to me by the Discord staff. If you'd like to join the community, you can use the Discord icon at the top of the site.
